Problema in Windows Update su Windows 7 SP1

Da qualche giorno a questa parte, windows update mi rileva la presenza di aggiornamenti ma non li scarica lasciando in attesa il processo per ore ed ore senza completare un bel niente.
La piattaforma è Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64.
Cosa potrei analizzare per ricercare l eventuale problema?

Guarda il file windowsupdate.log nella cartella windows per vedere gli errori presenti, prendi magari le ultime righe, quelle più recenti, e postale qui nella discussione.

Ho eseguito il tool di diagnostica per WIndows Update e seguito la procedura manuale disabilitando il servizio di Windows Update ed andando ad eliminare i files nelle relative cartelle di sottosistema ma non si è risolto nulla.
WIndows Update rimane sempre alla ricerca di aggiornamenti ma non trova niente.
